Is the first thing you or your kids reach for when you open the pantry chips, crackers or sugary granola bars? If so you aren’t along, we all gravitate towards what is right in front of us. Here are a few tips to help encourage healthier choices when you go to grab a snack:

  • Keep all the healthy foods at eye-level (probably the middle shelf) since this is where your eyes will first go making healthy options a no brainer.
  • Put the things you don’t want to eat as much of high and out of sight so it’s harder to reach. (You will eat 70% less than if it’s readily available.)
  • Put the healthier foods in pretty containers so it’s easy to see.
